In mid-2017 comedian and writer Richard Herring, not satisfied with blazing a trail in podcasting, crowdfunded comedy production and one player snooker, published the book Emergency Questions.

This compilation of questions that Richard compiled to fall back on at slow points in interviews was published in print and as an ebook. It was also published as a mobile application.

The book's quick-fire question format was a perfect fit for Amazon Alexa and thus the Emergency Questions Alexa skill was born.

At launch, The Bookseller noted Emergency Questions to be the first book to be published across print, ebook, mobile and voice platforms, and shared the story of how Richard Herring's Emergency Questions became an Alexa Skill.
